On 29 August 2023, the ULEZ charge of £12.50 will be expanded to Greater London

The NFB has produced some resources to help members understand what this means from them and guide them through this transition

ULEZ Expansion (2023) NFB Guidance

This guidance document has been produced by the NFB Policy Team to advise members on the changes to the Ultra-Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) being introduced by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, on 29 August 2023. It covers details of the changes, the types of vehicles that are likely to be charged under the expansion as well as the support available for retrofitting or replacing vehicles to meet the emissions standards to avoid the daily charge. It also includes details of the NFB’s lobbying and advocacy efforts in regard to the implementation of the scheme.

Members who work in London, whether based in the capital or not, are strongly advised to read this guidance in full and take the necessary precautions to mitigate the costs incurred for ‘non-compliant’ vehicles. The changes will be implemented on 29 August 2023.

NFB Letter to Mayor of London Regarding ULEZ Expansion

The National Federation of Builders (NFB) has expressed serious concerns about the disproportionate impact that the expansion of ULEZ, and the way it is being administered, will have on the construction industry and tradespeople.

The NFB has written to the Mayor of London outlining alternative policy ideas to soften the impact and improve the transition period.

NFB Press Release and TV Interview

The NFB has written a press release in conjunction with this ULEZ expansion announcement and Rico Wojtulewicz, Head of Housing and Planning Policy for the NFB featured on Talk TV to further discuss its impact on construction and tradespeople.
