Need to qualify your workforce but don’t have time?
NFB Training has the solution...

NFB Training is committed to helping our members achieve a fully qualified workforce. Already many sites won’t let workers on without an appropriate card to prove their skills and this will increase as we approach the industry wide deadline for a fully qualified workforce by 2010.

The North East Region has joined forces with a local company, STS Ltd, to offer a pilot programme to NFB members in the region.

Getting your workforce carded and qualified to NVQ2 couldn’t be simpler. STS Ltd will manage the entire process from beginning to end, including;

• Contacting you to discuss your needs and arranging an initial meeting

• Conducting an audit of your workforce and their current CSCS card status

• Conducting an induction session with your staff

• Producing an action plan including any financial implications

• Accessing, coordinating and managing any funding opportunities on behalf of your company

• Supporting your company with staff who currently have a qualification but need to pass a health and safety test

• Coordinating the On Site Assessment and Training (OSAT)

STS will provide complete guidance and support to your company from the initial meeting right through the application process to the issuing of your CSCS cards. The entire process usually takes between 3 to 6 months.

What are the Benefits?

To employers;

• Ability to demonstrate the competence of your workforce and therefore improve chances of successful tendering.

• Supports any claim of a commitment to quality.

• Minimum downtime with employees off site on training courses

• Funding is available for eligible staff plus you can claim CSkills grants

• STS will manage the entire process including any paperwork

For individuals;

• Helps workers to prove their skills necessary for a CSCS Card quickly and easily.

• Demonstrates current competence to potential Clients. The CSCS Card itself is seen as a ‘passport’ to working on some sites.

• Takes account of existing skills and training so workers only train towards the things they don’t know how to do.

• Very little ‘downtime’ as assessments and training are carried out on site during work time.

• Not exam based so accessible to all.
