Following the Government's announcement this lunchtime concerning its Code for Sustainable Housing, Roger Humber, Strategic Policy Adviser to the House Builders Association (HBA), a division of the National Federation of Builders, said:
This package offers no effective blue print for the future and no effective proposals for reducing carbon emissions for the existing stock of 25 million homes.
The Government needs to concentrate on cost effective and deliverable proposals in this area, rather than empty gestures.
The House Builders Association has developed concrete proposals that any Local Authority could adopt and implement forthwith in conjunction with its Decent Homes programme."
