Julia Evans, Chief Executive
Julia has been Chief Executive of the National Federation of Builders since January 2006 – prior to which she was a Director of the Strategic Rail Authority.
She has held board level posts in criminal justice (both police and probation) and in the health service where her key responsibilities focussed on human resources. She sits on the Better Regulation Executive Strategy Board and she is a governor at the Leeds School of Building. She holds a first degree from the University of Wales, an MPhil from the University of Nottingham and an MBA from the Warwick Business School.
The NFB pursues a wide range of initiatives on behalf of its members. Julia has led some key successes in the field of procurement - especially the public sector - and also progressed wide ranging work with utility providers. She has forged close links across industry and positioned the NFB as a leading commentator on the economy and government affairs in the UK and Europe

Sameena Thompson, External Affairs Director
Sameena formerly worked at the British Safety Council as Communications and Policy Director. Before this she worked for the institute of Chartered Accountants, was Press Secretary to Cabinet Minister John Reid, The Prime Minister's Strategy Unit and DfID, and a producer at Sky News. She has also been a newspaper editor and radio broadcaster. She has a BA Hons degree in Politics and Social Policy and lives in Godalming with her husband and daughter.
Sameena's vision is to develop, through effective communications campaigns, the NFB's role as the first port of call for services to members, comment and opinion to the media, influential advice to policy makers, and thought leadership of the industry.

Mark Steer, Finance Director
Mark is an experienced chartered accountant, who has been with the Federation for 10 years, prior to which he worked in various financial capacities within the Balfour Beatty group for 15 years.
He is primarily responsible for financial management, direction and control of the Federation’s finances and liaison with Auditors and Bankers.

June Davis, Commercial Director
June was appointed as Training & Membership Services Director on 1st January 2010 having spent the previous 9 years in various positions within the NFB all of which led to promotion. With proven and excellent knowledge of funding, project management , training and health and safety, all complimented by a sound commercial footing, June was promoted to Commercial Director in May 2011 with responsibility for the Training, Membership Services and Operations directorates of the Federation.
June's vision is to further develop the training and membership service product offering to existing NFB members as well as extending the offering to future members through collaborative working.
